it IS possible to build a fence without showing ass crack

here's where i started at 11am this morning...

and two short hours later...

sure it's a bit ugly right now. but i had to use the wood from the old fence. the other side looks great. maybe i should have taken a picture of it instead... but i didn't have my shoes on so could only take the pic from my deck.

it doesn't look ugly. i like that all its lines are straight and parallel.

(whispering) psst. hate to break it to you, but your crack IS showing. and you're barefoot.

really? MY crack? and you're right... but i have nice feet - for a man. so that's not so bad.

so you don't think the fence is ugly? thanks. i think i did a pretty good job with the uniformity and so forth, but the part that looks ugly to me is the bright spots on the boards (the parts that didn't weather when they were up previously. just looks kind of odd. but they'll weather someday. or maybe i'll paint it.

oh, i see those spots now.

paint it. or better yet, do like that one kid in that one book and con people into painting it for you.

now. will you come over and put up curtains at my place?

d said...

sure. no problem. i'm good with hanging curtains. and i have tomorrow off.

ooh. thanks! i'm on the third floor, second door on the left. i'll make cookies. or would you prefer candy? p.s. i'm not hitting on you. (just in case)

cookies are good. what kind do you make?

third floor... second door on the left. right. ok. how do i get there from here again? head south, then take a right somewhere between maine and florida?

do you have a lot of stalkers? is that why you made a point to say you weren't hitting on me? or is "hanging curtains" code for... you know... and you thought i'd actually know that and didn't want me to get the wrong idea.

and if "hanging curtains" isn't code for... well, you know... then maybe we should try to make it one by introducing it into our daily vocabulary. think of it as a fun hobby. i've been trying to do that for another word over the last five years... but nothing to do with... ummm, you know.

not a lot of stalkers, but enough to make me not want any more.

plus when a girl bakes cookies for a guy he's a tad more likely to get the wrong idea. it's the cookies. or is it the baking? plus i look hot in an apron, and then guys do get the wrong idea.

i guess if you try hard enough, anything could be code for... ahem... but "hanging curtains" isn't as far as i know. of course, i rarely know about those sort of things.

d said...

yeah... me either.

and nobody ever bakes me cookies, except my mom and my sister-in-law's grandmother. so i don't really know how to interpret it. i'd probably just eat 'em and say "wow, for a bunny, you make some damn good cookies." now, where are those curtains you need hung?

well, that's the thing. first i have to buy them. and i am having trouble deciding what color i need. but mostly it's to keep the darn sun out in the morning, because i don't wanna wake up with the sun if i don't have to.

and, um, they're going in the bedroom, which is another reason why i clarified that i wasn't hitting on you.

dangit. now i want cookies and candy.

i invested close to $500 in window coverings when i moved to my current place just over a month ago. and now i'm thinking of moving out. so i guess what i'm saying is "holy crap window coverings are expensive and a total waste of money if you're only staying at a place for a month."

and i agree about the sun. and also about the cookies and candy. but especially about the sun. i bought heavy curtains that pretty much block the sun. they're great.

where did you get said window coverings? and if you're not going to use yours, may i have them? just bring them when you come by and we'll put them up.

but i already ate the cookies.

i got them all over the place. i bought bamboo blinds at home depot. then i bought curtains at target, and a couple of canadian chain stores. but i've seen similar ones at pier 1 and home depot.

and sure. if i decide i'm moving and not going to be able to use mine, they're all yours.

CamoBunny said...

thanks! whoever said canadians weren't generous?

hee hee. i accidentally typed "candians" just a minute ago. you know. it's funny 'cause you like candy.
